ACETT The Association of Consulting Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago The Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago and subsequently the Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago, has for a considerable period of time in the past kept a listing of Engineers in private consulting practice. Individuals and firms who met criteria as stated were included in the list. In more recent time, this consultants listing became the Association of Consulting Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago, and access to membership is by voluntary application. The Board of Engineering has just concluded a review of the Engineering Profession Act, No. 34 of 1985 with an intent to seek amendments to the law for enhancement of the registration process and provide reciprocity with the other regulatory Boards in the Caricom region. The new law will provide for the mandatory registration of persons and firms providing engineering services to the public. Firms providing consulting engineering services not now within the umbrella of the Association of Consulting Engineers, which meet the criteria stated and wish to become members may make application using the form provided or call the Board’s office for an application form and/or further information.
